SQL Server 2014 Standard to Enterprise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This blog is about upgrading SQL Server 2014 Standard Edition to the Enterprise Edition.\u00a0 This blog looks &amp; sound much like my October 2013 post, &#8220;<a title=\"Upgrade SQL Server 2012 Standard to Enterprise\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thesqlreport.com\/?p=349\" target=\"_blank\">Upgrade SQL Server 2012 Standard to Enterprise<\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0 Basically I just updated the pictures.\u00a0\u00a0 The upgrading the version in SQL Server 2014 appears to be simpler then SQL Server 2012, which was not very hard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">First, verify which edition of SQL Server you are running is by running \u201cSELECT @@VERSION\u201d in a SSMS query window.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theSQLReport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2014Enterprise001.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1032 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theSQLReport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2014Enterprise001.jpg\" alt=\"Standard Edition\" width=\"604\" height=\"273\" Server 2014 Enterprise (DVD\/ISO).\u00a0 When the SQL Server Installation Center app appears, click on the \u201cMaintenance\u201d link on the top left panel of the app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theSQLReport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2014Enterprise002.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1033 top of the right panel of the SQL Server Installation Center app, click on the \u201cEdition Upgrade\u201d link.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a appear.\u00a0 The next screen is the Product Key screen.\u00a0 Enter your product key, if it does not auto fill the \u201cEnter the product key:\u201d text box.\u00a0 Then click the NEXT do a scan for \u201cSetup Global Rules\u201d.\u00a0 If this scan succeeds, then it will automatically proceed to the next screen with out any user interaction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a the Select Instance screen.\u00a0 Drop the combo box down to select the instance that you wish to upgrade.\u00a0 A list of recognized instances will be list in the Installed instances grid box.\u00a0 Then click on the NEXT button.\u00a0 A please wait box may appear for a couple of seconds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a upgrade edition screen appears next.\u00a0 In the text box will appear a list of item that are going to be upgraded.\u00a0 After reviewing this list, click on the UPGRADE button.<\/p>\n<p UPGRADE button has been clicked, it will grey out.\u00a0 Then nothing will happen for maybe a minute.\u00a0 Then the Complete screen if the upgrade has succeed.\u00a0 Click the CLOSE button.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theSQLReport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2014Enterprise010.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" my knowledge, no reboot is required after the upgrade is finished. \u00a0 This was on a Server 2012 R2 operating system.\u00a0 I was able to immediately create databases &amp; manipulate
