I was asked about the “MaxLoadTasks” setting in Teradata.\u00a0 There are a couple of ways to view this information.\u00a0 In this case I am going to show the command-line option to use Teradata’s DBSControl Utility.<\/p>\n

Note: Using Teradata Express for this example.<\/p>\n

Resolution:<\/h3>\n

From the command line, I entered the dbscontrol<\/strong> command to start the utility.<\/p>\n

Note: if the error “-bash: dbscontrol: command not found”<\/em>, may need to add Teradata’s bin<\/em> directory to the session path.<\/p>\n

Once the DBSControl Utility opens, type the display<\/strong> command.\u00a0 This will display all of the DBS Control Records.<\/p>\n

To display only a subset of the records, type the group name after the display command which will show only that group, like display general<\/strong> or display storage<\/strong>. There are the following choices: GENERAL, FILESYS, PERFORMANCE, CHECKSUM, STORAGE, INTERNAL, STATISTICS and COMPRESSION<\/p>\n

By typing help<\/strong> command, other information on the other commands like modify<\/strong> and write<\/strong> are explained.<\/p>\n

To exit the DBSControl Utility, type quit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
